Who am I?

Why do I make music?

When I was in my early 20s, my father was diagnosed with cancer. A lot of things had to go on hold, including my musical endeavors. My mom wasn’t in the best health and needed someone to help her with grocery shopping and basic household tasks. When my mother passed away in 2019, I started asking myself for the first time in a long time what I wanted out of life, and I slowly found my spark for music reigniting. Since 2020, I’ve been writing my story and building new worlds with some of the most talented musicians I could ever dream of being associated with. As a songwriter, sometimes I write about the loss of my parents and friends; sometimes about my struggles with anxiety; and other times, it's just tongue-in-cheek banter that creates a vehicle for guitar and synth solos.

The songs I write, both musically and lyrically, are the truest expression of who I am. I make music as an outlet for emotions that I feel but often have no place to voice. My new EP, “Do The Work,” is the culmination of my life’s experiences expressed to date. If you connect with these songs, my hope is that we can sing them together and collectively heal from things we've left unsaid, even if it's just telling your local bar star to take his drunk ass home. I hope to hear what these songs have meant to you or to meet you at a show. It is the greatest honor of my life to sing for you. Thank you for letting me be a part of your story and for being a part of mine.

Sincerely,

Zac Robins
